How to use Textiles as Art

As I've been scrolling through Instagram and Pinterest lately, I've noticed a new trend in home decor. People are using textiles as art! I've seen everything from tapestries, to scarfs, and now rugs which are all being hung on walls, and I'm not going to lie, I'm kinda into it!

After doing a bit of research I learned that hanging rugs from walls isn’t such a new concept. People have been doing it for centuries and not just for decoration, but for insulation purposes as well.  Lately, I've  noticed the rise in Kelim, Persian, and Oriental rugs being used for wall decoration. It’s a great way to add some individual character to a room.

So take a peak at some photos below and let me know what you think. Would you dare hang a rug on your wall?
